Cable Ranker: Week of Jan. 17, 2011

By Alex Weprin

Piers Morgan’s first week on the air and Keith Olbermann’s last week on the air did not really make much of a dent in the overall cable network ranker. Fox News was still the only news channel to crack the top 10, though even it was pushed down the ranks a bit, thanks to the TV juggernaut that is MTV’s “Jersey Shore” and History’s “Pawn Stars.”

Overall, FNC placed 5th in primetime with 1.79 million total viewers, behind USA, TNT, MTV and History. MSNBC placed 26th with 838,000 total viewers, and CNN was 30th with 723,000.

In total day, FNC placed 8th with 994,000 total viewers, with MSNBC 31st at 453,000 and CNN 34th with 408,000.
