Cable Network Ranker: Week of May 27

By Alex Weprin

The NBA playoffs propelled TNT to an easy win among all cable channels last week. While there was still plenty of news to go around, a slew of Summer premieres and playoff NBA and NHL games kept the entertainment and sports channels on top.

Fox News led the way among cable news channels, placing fourth among ad-supported cable channels in primetime, and fifth among all channels. CNN fell to 32nd in primetime among ad-supported channels (33rd overall) while MSNBC placed 35th among ad-supported channels (36th overall). HLN placed 43rd in primetime (44th overall).

For the business networks: CNBC led the way as usual, placing 61st in primetime, while Fox Business Network placed 88th. Bloomberg TV isn’t rated by Nielsen.
