Bill O’Reilly: ‘When I Go On Letterman or the Morning Shows, the Ratings Go Up’

Bill O’Reilly continued his media tour for his latest historical thriller Killing Patton, appearing on his own network talking about one of his favorite subjects: the media.

On MediaBuzz, host Howard Kurtz asked O’Reilly if he can now “drop the argument” that he is a “lonely outsider,” since he’s done interviews with the likes of David Letterman, Katie Couric and Jon Stewart recently.

“I bring ratings to those shows,” O’Reilly says. “So when I go on Letterman or the morning shows, the ratings go up. That’s why they have me on.”

“At first, they tried to destroy me,” said O’Reilly of the “mainstream media.” “I’ve been here 18 years so they’ve given that up.”
