bill o'reilly_304x200In a Boston Herald radio interview this morning, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly tipped his hat to the city of Boston.

“Everyone knows that the city conducted itself, generally speaking, in a way that is above and beyond reproach,” O’Reilly said. “As somebody who has longtime Boston ties, I couldn’t be prouder of the city.”

O’Reilly went further into his ties to the city, noting that his journalism training happened in Boston; he worked for local channel five and seven, and got his broadcast journalism degree from Boston University.

“The Boston Marathon has always been an event that all the news agencies go wall-to-wall with…more celebratory,” O’Reilly said, suggesting that now, the race has changed to a symbol of anti-terrorism.

O’Reilly also teased leading tonight’s “O’Reilly Factor” with marathon coverage, offering perspective on how this year’s marathon is just one part of a larger anti-terrorism effort the U.S. must put into place.
