Bill O’Reilly Criticizes CNN, Confronts George Stephanopoulos

By Alex Weprin

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly dedicated the opening segment on his show to some media criticism last night. O’Reilly criticized CNN for posting an article on CNN.com that he said put words into his mouth that he didn’t say, and attacked comedian Bill Maher for a joke about the Zimmerman trial on “The Late Show.” He also confronted “Good Morning America” co-anchor George Stephanopoulos for something that Tavis Smiley said on “This Week” last weekend.

Stephanopoulos was a guest on O’Reilly’s program, where he addressed the comments.

“I tried to get us back to the facts at hand,” Stephanopoulos said. “It was also preceded by a discussion about whether or not the Justice Department should bring civil rights charges against George Zimmerman.”
