As She Makes Senate Run, Fox News Drops Liz Cheney As Contributor

By Alex Weprin

The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, Liz Cheney, is running for a Senate seat in Wyoming, and will lose her gig with Fox News as a result. Cheney has been a Fox News political contributor since January 2012.

Due to her political run, FNC is dropping her as a contributor, Mediaite’s Andrew Kirell confirms.

It is standard operating procedure for TV news outlets to end contributor agreements when the contributor in question runs for political office. Back in 2011, FNC terminated the contracts of Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum once they declared their intention to run for the GOP Presidential nomination.
