Ann Curry’s First Big Interview Since Becoming ‘Today’ Co-Anchor: President Barack Obama

By Alex Weprin

Newly minted NBC “Today” co-anchor Ann Curry will interview President Barack Obama next week, her first major interview since taking on the new role. The interview, which NBC is billing as exclusive, will be broadcast Tuesday June 14 and will focus on the economy and the lead-up to the 2012 election.

Curry will interview Obama in Durham, North Carolina, where the President is scheduled to meet with the Jobs & Competitiveness Council at the headquarters of LED lighting manufacturer Cree.

Curry last interviewed Obama on the campaign trail in 2008. Since being elected he has appeared on “Today” on a few occasions, being interviewed by Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira.
