‘Anchorman 2’ Reviews: ‘Frequently Amusing, Occasionally Hilarious’ ‘Wacky Fun’

“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,” opens today to a mixed bag of reviews from around the country. Here’s what the critics are saying:

New York Times: “It’s a frequently amusing, occasionally hilarious, rarely unpleasant grab bag of mild mockery and inspired lunacy, decked out with cameos from beloved comic performers and random celebrities.”

San Francisco Chronicle: “It’s clear that the people who created the first ‘Anchorman’ wanted to hang out on a set again together. That’s better than getting back together just to make money. ‘Anchorman 2’ is not great art, and it doesn’t take comedy to bold new places. But it’s not ‘Caddyshack 2,’ either.”

USA Today: “While it may not be as quotable as its predecessor, Anchorman 2 still is wacky fun. And who can resist brave little Baxter tackling yet another predator and saving the day once more?”

New York Daily News: “Like the bloated channels it parodies, the movie stretches to find something to say, then settles for stupid.”
