A Bloomberg Show Will Also Air on MSNBC

By Chris Ariens

MSNBC will begin airing With All Due Respect, a politics show that airs on Bloomberg weekday afternoons.

The program, co-hosted by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, debuted on Bloomberg a year ago in the 5 p.m. timeslot. The 6 p.m. airing on MSNBC follows the expansion of the show to one hour.

It was around that time that discussions began to bring the show to MSNBC. At source at MSNBC said it was not likely to happen. But over over the last several weeks, Bloomberg and MSNBC came to the decision it would benefit both networks.

MSNBC has been airing a general news program at 6 p.m. since August when Rev. Al Sharpton‘s show was moved to weekends.

While MSNBC shows have aired on CNBC, and CNN programs air on HLN, it’s almost unheard of for a cable news program to air on two networks that are not a part of the same parent company. But Halperin and Heilemann have been–and continue to be–regulars on other MSNBC shows including Morning Joe.

“I’ve known and respected Mark and John’s work for many years,” said Andy Lack, Chairman of NBC News and MSNBC. “Collaborating with them on our air will strengthen our already deep and experienced political lineup as MSNBC heads into a pivotal election year.”

“This is a natural extension of the Bloomberg Politics brand for us,” added Bloomberg Media CEO Justin Smith.
