Flashback to 1994, when the Internet was just five years old and David Gregory was a reporter at KCRA, the NBC affiliate in Sacramento. Tasked with explaining the “widespread interest” in “going online with the Internet,” a young Gregory reports “the possibilities along the Internet are limitless and the demand has only just begun.”
“While the service has always been able to offer facts about the world or the weather, coming in 1995 — that’s right, purchasing power,” Gregory says. “You can buy such things as chocolate on the Internet, or even order pizza from this electronic storefront.”
