Charles Gibson “is skeptical” that Katie Couric will “be able to change much on Evening News, given the time constraints imposed on a half-hour news program.” He tells USA Today:
“We’ve got a template of 50 years of these shows. Trying to vary that template has never been particularly successful. I’m sort of interested in poking at what CBS does to try to find out what’s under there. My suspicion is that all this talk is just so they can answer your questions. I think you’ll see a pretty traditional news show.”
