Zap2it rewards fans for socializing with fall TV

Fall TV is officially back and fans everywhere are looking to be rewarded for their part in helping new shows survive. Zap2it is making this possible with the expansion of their Rewards Challenge program that launched in April. The TV site smartly describes it’s audience as “8.5 million socialables” and with their fall TV Challenge they’re trying to take get their readers, to do more than just read their content.

Zap2it “wants to know what you’ll be watching” and tapping into their established readership will help them add up some interesting information on how their readers (who are super passionate TV fans) are buzzing with excitement around shows. By checking into shows across their site you’ll be able to “win an iTunes gift card, a Hulu Plus subscription, a TiVo Premier DVR or a $2,500 home theater makeover,” throughout fall TV.

When social TV junkies here TV check-ins the first platform that probably comes to mind is GetGlue. While the conversations are constantly improving as they grow, the site definitely doesn’t have any type of editorial coverage on TV. Zap2it is in a unique position where when you check in, you can click on news and read lots of relevant content (from their authors) about a given show. We’ll be watching to see if Rewards Challenge picks up around fall TV and what kind of interesting data comes from their audience.
