Twitter Head of Research on Bloomberg: Tweets Drive Ratings and Ratings Drive Tweets

Twitter’s Head of Global Media & Agency Research Anjali Midha joined Cory Johnson on ‘Bloomberg West’ on Friday to discuss Twitter’s ongoing TV initiatives research. When asked by Johnson ‘what comes first, the chicken or the egg?,’ Midha explains that tweets drive ratings, but also that ratings drive tweets. Johnson and Midha go on to discuss the most-tweeted shows, Twitter’s partnership with Nielsen, over-use of hashtags, the usability of the platform for time-shifters, and how TV can be a potential revenue stream.
