TV 2 Norway Partners With Monterosa on Participation TV Initiatives

CowbellWebAppLate last week, Norway’s biggest commercial broadcaster, TV 2, signed a one-year contract with London-based Monterosa to use the company’s LViS Studio platform. The platform will drive all of TV 2’s second screen and participation TV initiatives for its sports and entertainment broadcasts.

TV 2 built its first LVi-S powered product for its coverage of the Handball World Championships. During matches, there is a call to action for viewers to go to TV2.no, where they can ring a virtual cowbell to rate what they’ve just seen. On TV, there is a Bell-o-Meter that shows how much ‘noise’ viewers have been generating.

“We know that LViS Studio will enable us to develop second-screen proposals enhancing TV experience for our viewers and offering new and exciting opportunities for our sponsors,” Nils Borhaug of TV 2 said. “Monterosa proved to be the most promising offering both based on functionality and flexibility of the LViS platform and also for their accumulated experience and knowledge working with a variety of broadcasters and brands.”
