Sundance Channel premieres show on Twitter

AMC Networks’ Sundance Channel has unleashed the premiere episode of Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys via TwitVid on their Twitter account. The show’s season two, which “celebrates the special relationship between straight women and gay men,” will premier on Friday night 11/18 at 9pm.

NBC’s Grim also offered the first episode via Twitter but required that you follow the show so they could DM you a code. With this TwitVid integration you don’t even need to have a Twitter account to access the permalink tweet page with the video embed. The video, which currently has 742 views (number of views can be seen publicly just like YouTube), will be a great test to judge the power of launching a new season on Twitter.

This seems like the first TwitVid Sundance has uploaded to an account called SUNFiltered, the name of the channel’s blog. This campaign might even send a message to Twitter that it’s time to launch their own video upload function to facilitate deeper integrations with their growing number of TV partners.
