NBC’s “The Slap,” a niche series with an all-star cast (Uma Therman, Melissa George, and Peter Saarsgard, among others) premieres tonight, meaning there might be something to watch besides “Shark Tank” on a Friday night if you’re hibernating until spring.
The drama starts, as they all do, when ritual is broken and some guy slaps another guy’s kid, Melissa George screams, and everyone is really intense about it, according to the teaser. It was originally an Australian series. But that’s not important.
Twitter is important. The show already has people making really bad jokes about slapping children. Yahoo TV has an entire slideshow of kids from television they want to slap. I screenshot this tweet because I feel like the slideshow shouldn’t be around for long, even though it includes some cartoon characters. Why would you want to slap Carl from “The Walking Dead?” Isn’t his life hard enough? What is wrong with you, people? To this day my mother tells me she didn’t slap me enough, so what do I know? Here we go:

is the slap about one single slap or is there a new slap for each episode

If the premise behind ‘The Slap’ is every character gets slapped, one character per episode, it may be the best show ever…

VERY tasteless of #TheSlap using The Ramones’ “Beat on the Brat” as its theme song.

#TheSlap seems like Brothers and Sisters on steroids.

To my knowledge The Slap is the first TV show based on a reply-all email chain of parents of Montessori kids with chalk allergies

And then, some truth:
be honest if ‘the slap’ were a bbc drama y’all would think it was an intriguing premise
