KDFW's roasts social media in parody clip

By Cory Bergman

The Dallas Fox affiliate has put together a hilarious parody of how TV newscasts and social media don’t always go well together:

Couple interesting comments on YouTube: “Attempting to make parody of social shifts and behavior due to the advances/trends in technology only makes you look dated and nothing more,” wrote SparksMemphis. Responded Firebert, “The point of the parody, in my opinion, is to point out how social media has shortcomings in bringing you the news. If you were watching a broadcast like this, you’d just want them to report the news? AND THAT’S THE POINT THEY’RE TRYING TO GET AT.”

Personally, I think it illustrates that television and social media are different beasts. Both excel on their own channels with their own audiences, but certainly, they can reinforce each other — with careful moderation, of course. Your thoughts?
