How a TV news personality should use social

In the midst of the unfortunate and terrible situation in Israel/Gaza, an interesting use of social has emerged from CNN’s Anderson Cooper. Cooper is currently on the ground in the region and isn’t only preparing for TV broadcasts.

BuzzFeed recently reported in this trending story that Anderson isn’t just tweeting from the region but taking the time to read his @mentions and “own” his critics by calling them out on their ridiculousness and incorrect accusations. Here’s one example.

This is proof of how TV personalities will go from active tweeters to active engagers. Anderson noticed his critics, listened to them and responded in an honest and sincere way – all while promoting and reminding his followers and this user that he has “been doing that repeatedly on TV.
