From activity feeds to show pages, GetGlue beefs up community features on its website

Since the beginning, GetGlue has been primarily a mobile app experience, but in recent months the social TV startup has been cranking away on the web side of things, as well. In September, it relaunched its site as a destination — with an emphasis on a new social program guide — and today GetGlue released a new set of features to beef up the community aspects of the experience.

To start things off, GetGlue has launched activity feeds, aggregating what your friends are watching, reviewing, liking and commenting on:

It’s also created show pages, using the same activity feed approach, but expanding the pool to anyone who’s checking in and commenting on the show.

GetGlue also upgraded its profile pages, adding the user’s history along with top watched shows. The profile pages also come along with friendly URLs, and you can now tag a friend in a conversation by mentioning their username with the “@” sign.

GetGlue is certainly pushing beyond its humble beginnings as simple a way to “check in” to a TV show by focusing on 1) building its community across platforms and 2) leveraging that data to make it easier for people to discover shows they’ll love.
