Facebook Top State of the Union Moments

SOTU 304President Obama’s fifth State of the Union address generated a lot of buzz on social—and even threats after between a Congressman and a reporter—with Facebook serving as a hub for political junkies.

The president’s impassioned theme of enhancing opportunity for all Americans totaled 6.6 million interactions, which consists of mentions, comments, and likes, with 3.6 million unique people commenting.

Obama’s call for equal pay for women notched the top spot in terms of buzz, followed by his calling for Congress to “give America a raise” in the form of raising the minimum wage.President Obama invoking American citizens as the source behind the union’s strength came in third, with the president calling the debate about climate change settled and calling for 2014 to be the year for action rounding out the top five.
