Warren Ellis Covers the World Cup with Dark Tweets

By Jason Boog

sgsig.jpgGraphic novelist Warren Ellis has been covering the World Cup with dark tweets. His special tone can be seen in this dispatch after England tied the United States last weekend: “I wish to assure our American friends that, for this performance, the England team will in fact be executed.”

As the United States struggles against Slovenia, perhaps we all need a little bit of his grim humor. Here are a few excellent excerpts from Ellis’ coverage of the France versus Mexico match yesterday:

He wrote: “‘French team now standing around smoking Gauloises, composing miserable poetry … ‘We are so bored now that we will simply stand around and let the Mexicans score. Be SEARED by our ennui.'”
