Hot Air Balloon Cover (GalleyCat)Virgin Atlantic has purchased 2,000 units of The Great Hot Air Balloon Adventure. This self-published picture book was written by Stephen D. Holmes and illustrated by Kev Payne.

The Guardian reports that Holmes’ project started off as a bedtime story for his two young daughters. The airline company plans to hand out copies of the book to families taking night flights.

Clare Fraser, a cabin crew member, gave this statement in the blog post: “We have so many families travelling with us and we know how difficult it can be for parents trying to keep children entertained on what can be a long flight. We always try to make the journey as easy and enjoyable as possible for our customers and this summer we’re looking forward to introducing games and activities to help give parents a little respite on board.” (via The Great Hot Air Balloon Adventure website)
