We’ve collected the books debuting on Indiebound’s Indie Bestseller List for the week ending March 11, 2012–a sneak peek at the books everybody will be talking about next month.

(Debuted at #4 in Children’s Interest) Divergent by Veronica Roth: “In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives.” (May 2011)

(Debuted at #5 in Hardcover Nonfiction) Revelations by Elaine Pagels: “In a time when global religious violence surges, Revelations explores how often those in power throughout history have sought to force ‘God’s enemies’ to submit or be killed. It is sure to appeal to Pagels’s committed readers and bring her a whole new audience who want to understand the roots of dissent, violence, and division in the world’s religions, and to appreciate the lasting appeal of this extraordinary text.”

(Debuted at #10 in Hardcover Fiction) The Expats by Chris Pavone: “Kate Moore is a working mother, struggling to make ends meet, to raise children, to keep a spark in her marriage . . . and to maintain an increasingly unbearable life-defining secret. So when her husband is offered a lucrative job in Luxembourg, she jumps at the chance to leave behind her double-life, to start anew.” (March 2012)
