Over at UnBeige, mediaistro.com’s design blog, Stephanie Murg takes note of the Garfield Without Garfield book deal, as Ballantine agrees to publish a collection that juxtaposes original Jim Davis strips with versions from which Dan Walsh has digitally excised all the animals: not just Garfield, but Opie and Nermal, too. (I wonder what would happen if you applied that technique to strips from the strip’s Lyman era.)
Not bad for a website that launched in February. No word on the exact terms of the book deal—anyone want to hazard a guess as to whether Walsh is making “Stuff White People Like money” from this project?
