Yesterday HarperCollins announced two promotions at the HarperOne imprint. Associate publisher Claudia Boutote was elevated to senior vice president and executive editor Gideon Weil was promoted to vice president.
Boutote had recently worked on the twentieth anniversary edition of Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist” and the eco-friendly edition of the Bible, “The Green Bible.” In a memo about the promotions, HarperCollins Senior VP Mark Tauber wrote that her “creativity, energy and tirelessness in ‘getting it right’ are top shelf and continue to pay off every week.”
Weil had recently supervised a series of novels by Deepak Chopra. In the same memo, Tauber wrote: “His projects include many that continue to backlist very profitably, along with a slate of front list bestsellers.”
