A fake Twilight: Breaking Dawn game has swept through Facebook lately, spreading malware and spam to users. The Facebook application starts with an innocent query: “Play Twilight: Breaking Dawn Be the first of your friends to play the awesome new Twilight game on Facebook!”
Our sibling blog All Facebook explained: “Unsuspecting fans are then directed to a Facebook page that looks like it is presenting an online game with the same name as the movie Twilight: Breaking Dawn. Clicking the “play now” button results in a “like” of the game. The sham link is then distributed to the user’s entire network of Facebook friends. This transaction is so smooth, users may be completely unaware that they were tricked into ‘liking’ the fake game and recommending it to their network.”
