The Most Literary Celebrity on Twitter

By Jason Boog

leveragedvdphoto.pngAs his TNT show Leverage enters its second season, actor Timothy Hutton has built an impressive following in the literary blogosphere–connecting a loyal band of authors and earning a The Daily Beast profile.

Here’s more from the article: “Hutton, the show’s star, won an Oscar for his role as the disturbed-but-adorable Conrad Jarrett in Ordinary People nearly 30 years ago. But today, his star shines brightest in the Twitter worlds of middle-aged female authors, publishers, and literary bloggers … Hutton gives book recommendations, discusses spelling variations, and promotes some of these women’s events to his over 5,000 followers.”

Visit Hutton’s Twitter page to join the growing club. We also noticed that the article doesn’t link out to Hutton’s literary followers, but his list of more than 5,600 followers includes some of GalleyCat’s favorite Twitter feeds. Working through the feature, we’ve made this unofficial directory of Hutton’s literary fans as a public service to our readers–all these writers make for excellent Twitter reading.
