Ta-Nehisi Coates, journalist and author, has signed on to write for Marvel’s new Black Panther series. The first issue will be published in 2016.
According to The New York Times, Brian Stelfreeze will create the artwork for this project, The publisher will release the issues featuring Coates’ storyline, entitled “A Nation Under Our Feet,” over the course of a year.
Here’s more from Variety: “Black Panther, also known as T’Challa, made his first appearance in Fantastic Four #52 back in 1966. The sometimes king of the fictional African country Wakanda became the first black superhero in mainstream American comics.”
