In the Netherlands, eBook sellers will put individual watermarks into digital books as a strategy to discourage digital piracy. Do you think American publishers should use this strategy?

AppNewser has all the details:

In a move to help combat piracy, eBook merchants in the Netherlands are going to begin adding unique digital watermarks to the digital books that they sell in order to track the individual copies of eBooks down to the user. In order to do this, they must hand over customer data to an anti-piracy group. Customers will be informed that their data will be attached to the file that they purchase and shared with the anti-piracy group at the point of sale.
