We couldn’t make it to the New York Public Library Monday night for the presentation of their annual Young Lions Fiction Award, so our thanks to the Library for sending us this photo of Olga Grushin flanked by fellow nominees Chris Adrian and Tony D’Souza, with celebrity readers Ethan Hawke and Robert Sean Leonard in the background. (Carpe diem, dude!) Grushin won this year’s $10,000 prize for her debut novel, The Dream Life of Sukhanov, which also earned her a spot on Granta‘s roster of this generation’s best young American novelists (alongside D’Souza).

(Hawke is, it should be observed, not just an annual participant in the celebrity readings of the shortlisted works, he’s also the co-founder of the award along with Rick Moody.)
