McDonald’s is bringing Roald Dahl books to customers in the U.K.

For the next six weeks, the company will give out 14 million books featuring extracts from Roald Dahl’s most popular books as part of “McDonald’s Roald Dahl Happy Meals.” McDonald’s Happy Readers partnered with the National Literacy Trust, Penguin Random House Children’s U.K. and the Roald Dahl Literary Estate on the effort.

After doing a survey of more than 3,000 U.K. grandparents, kids and parents, the fast food chain found that Roald Dahl is popular among its demographic in the U.K.

Here is more from the press release: “Today, three quarters of mums, one in five dads and one in 10 grandparents read regularly to children across the country. Half of adults want to encourage budding readers to stretch their imaginations and the same number use reading as a way to spend time together as a family.”
