Reader Returns Library Book After 63 Years

An Alabama man has returned a library book that was overdue by 63 years, to his former high school library.

The former student Bobby Rice checked out Lydia Bailey by Kenneth Roberts, a historical novel set during the Haitian Revolution, back in 1952. NBC News has more:

Guntersville’s current librarian, Elishaba Larson, who wasn’t even alive when Rice checked out the book, estimated that the fine for the overdue book was probably around $1,500. But she but waived it as a way of saying thanks to Rice for doing the right thing.
