Randall Munroe, the creator of the “xkcd” webcomic, has announced his second book, titled Thing Explainer. Inspiration for the project came from an annotated blueprint comic he created called Up Goer Five.
According to Munroe’s blog post announcement, the book features “detailed diagrams of interesting objects, along with explanations of what all the parts are and how they work. The titles, labels, and descriptions are all written using only the thousand most common English words.”
