Pixar Character Modeler & Author Team Up on Kickstarter

By Maryann Yin

Author Audrey Auden hopes to raise $5,000 on Kickstarter to fund the printing costs for a new fully-illustrated, hardcover edition of her novel, Realms Unreel. Auden self-published her speculative fiction title in November without illustrations.

She has teamed up with artist Ian Steplowski for this venture; Steplowski works as a character modeler at Pixar Animation Studios and provides digital art for the movies. They hope to publish this new edition by June 2012. Above, we’ve embedded a video about the project.

Here’s more about the project: “Realms Unreel tells the story of a man who can’t die who follows the reincarnation of the woman he loves into the Silicon Valley of the near future to learn from her the secret to passing into the next life himself.”
