When Breath Becomes Air, the memoir of the late Dr. Paul Kalanithi, contains a poem for Kalanithi’s daughter Elizabeth Acadia Kalanithi. According to Yahoo! News, this book “is in many ways a love letter from Paul to his infant daughter Cady.”

Kalanithi passed away before completing the manuscript. NPR reports that his widow, Dr. Lucy Kalanithi, worked “with the book’s editor, finished the manuscript, sometimes piecing together emails and other documents into the narrative.” Penguin Random House published the book back in January 2016.
