harperchildren061410.jpgPublishing newbies, listen up. HarperCollins is on the hunt for an associate editor in their children’s books department, but this job won’t be your typical associate level position. The division will let you work with “minimal supervision” on editing accepted manuscripts and acting as the point person for authors, illustrators, and agents.

Sure, you’ll be responsible for your fair share of reports and will be assisting a manager with contracts and payments, but you’ll also learn the ins and outs of publishing by working with the division’s design, marketing, and sales departments on all aspects of your projects.

So, if you have some related work experience, sharp writing and editing skills, and an interest in children’s books, apply here.
