While watching footage of a speech by NY Times editor Bill Keller (pictured), Gawker noticed some off-the-record comments about the speculative release of the much-anticipated Apple Tablet. Here’s a choice excerpt from Keller’s speech: “I’m hoping we can get the newsroom more actively involved in the challenge of delivering our best journalism in the form of Times Reader, iPhone apps, WAP, or the impending Apple slate…”

The editor’s quote was pondered Morning Media Menu today, trying to figure out what this new device could mean for publishing. The show also discussed a Harry Potter party canceled by lawyers and the firing of an ESPN analyst.
