New Publisher Dedicated to International Literature

By Jason Boog

restlessbooksInspired by a New York Times opinion piece, a international literature publisher Restless Books has opened its doors.

Last year, publisher Ilan Stavans and executive editor Joshua Ellison wrote an essay for  about how “we have turned travel into something ordinary.” The new publishing house will include books written by authors around the world, changing our views on travel.

What defines us is right there in our name: the restlessness of modern life, the impulse to go to new places, both physically and with our imagination. Our objective is to create a community of readers passionate about other cultures and other languages; who share an interest in how people tell stories. We are committed to bringing the best of international literature—fiction, journalism, memoirs, poetry, travel writing, photography, and graphic novels.
