Scholastic has announced plans to publish a new edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The publisher will task an illustrator to create a new cover design and artwork for this magical zoology textbook.
J.K. Rowling will write a new foreword and contribute doodles to this project. The release date has been scheduled for March 14, 2017.
Here’s more from the press release: “Originally released in paperback by Scholastic in 2001, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by fictitious author Newt Scamander (a character from J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World), was published to benefit Comic Relief, a U.K.-based charity organization. The new edition will also benefit Comic Relief. An approved textbook at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry since publication, Newt Scamander’s masterpiece has entertained wizarding families through the generations.”
