Missy Franklin, an Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer, and her parents, known as D.A. and Dick, will work together on a family memoir. The three collaborators have signed a deal with the Penguin Random House imprint, Dutton.
Franklin gave this statement in the press release: “This book isn’t just about swimming. Yes, swimming is a big part of it but it’s ultimately a story about our family, the strong bond we share, and the decisions we’ve made as a family to get to where we are today.”
Jill Schwartzman, an executive editor, acquired the manuscript from the WME-IMG talent agency. The publication date for Relentless Spirit: The Unconventional Raising of a Champion has been set for Dec. 6.
