Michael Martens has decided to step down from his position as vice president of trade book sales at Dark Horse Comics. He has devoted twenty-two of his thirty-four year career in comics at this company.
Martens’ last day has been scheduled for September 1. A successor will be announced during the American Library Association annual conference; that event will take place from June 23 to June 28 in Orlando, FL.
Martens gave this statement in the press release: “Twenty-two years after arriving at Dark Horse, I find myself thinking about all the things I still want to do in my life. Creative things, fun things, volunteer things. Things that don’t involve long hours in front of a computer screen and a crazy travel schedule. It is hard to leave a rewarding position at Dark Horse, but it is time for me.”
