Marvel Comics will publish a new mini-series starring the Star Wars rebel hero Han Solo. The first of five issues will be released on June 1.
The story takes place after the events of A New Hope (the Episode IV movie), but prior to the start of The Empire Strikes Back (the Episode V movie). Marjorie Liu has signed on to write the story and Mark Brooks has come on board to create the artwork.
In a conversation with the Marvel.com team, Liu shared her thoughts on Han Solo’s character traits: “He doesn’t have superpowers—i.e. the Force—he’s not some young kid who is simply dreaming of being a pilot; no, Han is a guy who puts his dreams into action. And it’s rough and dirty and it doesn’t make him any loot, but he’s out there taking charge of his life—and his freedom.”
