Canadian digital book platform Kobo has expanded its offering in Europe this week with new retail partnerships in France and the UK. Kobo devices are now on sale at WH Smith in the UK — the Kobo Wireless device is priced at £89.99 and the Kobo Touch is priced at £109.99.
Soon the devices will be available at FNAC stores in France. eBookNewser has more: “Under the terms of the partnership, sometime during Q4 2011, FNAC will sell Kobo eReaders in 81 stores in France and online with Fnac.com. Kobo will be giving in-store demos to French consumers to teach them how to use the devices.”
The news comes after Amazon and Google expanded their European eBook offerings last week. Amazon opened the Kindle store in France and Google opened their eBook store in the UK.
