Kickstarter Publishing Project to Teach Kids Chinese

By Maryann Yin

Brandon Bailey and Wendy Yang Bailey hope to raise $12,000 on Kickstarter for a book project that would teach children Mandarin-Chinese. Above, we’ve embedded a video about The Epic Adventures of Princess Moonface.

A complete box set from the creative couple would include a bilingual graphic novel, five CDs, five workbooks and a character-writing practice book.

Here’s more about the project: “The story is centered around Mei, a headstrong Chinese-American delivery girl living in NYC’s Chinatown, Queens…The series uses our patent-pending Synchronous Translation Method, which allows for concurrent absorption of English, Chinese characters, and pinyin. Princess Moonface not only teaches the Chinese language, but also immerses readers in Chinese culture.”
