Kickstarter Projects Raised $480M in 2013

kickstarterCrowdfunding site Kickstarter  helped creators raise $480 million during the year from 3 million different backers in 214 countries last year.

The company revealed a number of success metrics from 2013 and among the achievements, an emoji translation of Moby Dick, which was funded through Kickstarter, entered the Library of Congress last year. In addition, the Kickstarter film Blue Ruin was at Cannes and the Kickstarter film Inocente won an Oscar, and Werner Herzog narrated a video about salt.
