Julianne Moore has signed a five-book deal with Random House Children’s Books to write a series books starring her bestselling Freckleface Strawberry character. Moore has previously written three books featuring Freckleface Strawberry, a character that is based on herself as a child.
“Freckleface Strawberry was the nickname I was given by the neighborhood kids when we lived in Nebraska,” explained Moore in a statement.
The Freckleface Strawberry book series will be a part of Random House’s Step into Reading program. The first two books are slated for release in the summer of 2015. A picture book is slated for the summer of 2016.
Mallory Loehr, Vice President, Publishing Director of the Random House/Golden Books Young Readers Group, acquired the world wide English-language rights for the books from Brenda Bowen of Sanford J. Greenburger Associates.
Frances Gilbert, Associate Publishing Director, Random House Books for Young Readers, will edit the books.
