Jewish Book Council Picks the Jewish Book of the Year

The Jewish Book Council has revealed the winners of its annual National Jewish Book Awards, picking City of Promises: A History of the Jews of New York, With a Visual Essay by Diana L. Linden as the Jewish Book of the Year.

The Innocents by Francesca Segal won the fiction award and Israel: A History by Anita Shapira took the history award. In addition, the children’s and young adult literature award went to Meet at the Ark at Eight by Ulrich Hub.
