Jeff Dean Named Executive Editor at Harvard University Press

Harvard University PressJeff Dean has been hired at Harvard University Press. He will serve in the newly created position of executive editor for physical sciences and technology.

Dean earned a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In the past, he has worked within the editorial teams at Focal Press, Wiley–Blackwell, and Blackwell Publishing.

Dean gave this statement in the press release: “While my formal education is largely humanities-based, over the years I have rekindled my early love of science. I expect to commission work that ties into present strengths of the press in other domains, addressing subjects that have global relevance and significant human impact, and that push against the current boundaries of basic knowledge.”
