It’s a Red Letter Day for Laura Caldwell

After publishing the first three novels in the Izzy McNeil mystery series over the course of three summer months, Harlequin‘s MIRA division has extended Laura Caldwell a new deal for four more sequels, the first of which should be appearing sometime after September 2010, following the publication of her nonfiction book about working with the non-profit Life After Innocence Project. When we caught up with Caldwell at BookExpo America, she told us about writing Red Hot Lies, Red Blooded Murder, and Red White & Dead back to back to back; here’s that video again…

“Never before have I felt there was still so much material to cover in the life of this character and those of the people around her,” Caldwell said in announcing the new deal. “And the fact that so many readers are writing to share what they liked (and what they didn’t; It’s okay, I can handle it) makes it even more exciting. Some readers have made the most incredible suggestions that never would have occurred to me. I have a feeling there will be many readers acknowledged in these books.”
