Internet Archive Wants to Create a Safe Mirror in Canada

By Dianna Dilworth

One of the big projects on the horizon is to augment its existing mirrors and make a new copy in Canada, a response to potential censorship it might suffer under a Trump presidency. The project is not cheap and the group hopes to raise millions of dollars to help realize the goal. Here is more from the site:

We are building the Internet Archive of Canada because, to quote our friends at LOCKSS, “lots of copies keep stuff safe.” This project will cost millions. So this is the one time of the year I will ask you: please make a tax-deductible donation to help make sure the Internet Archive lasts forever.
